Magic sinewaves are ultra long repeating binary sequences highly useful for induction motor speed controls, electric autos, solar inverters, and home energy efficiency improvers. Compared to traditional PWM, magic sinewaves offer lower costs, higher efficieny, elegant simplicity, simplified filtering, and involve significantly less high frequency energy.

In this requested file, Jim Fitzsimons answers the question: Just where
do those square corners come from if a magic sinewave has no low harmonics?

The first 1001 harmonics for a few typical "minimum distortion" sinewaves
are analyzed. These are UNFILTERED results.

Note that mid-range harmonics can be dramatically reduced by filtering. Strong
filtering is often inherent in a motor's inductance, but effective filtering may present
problems over wider speed ranges.

Harmonics can also be selectively reduced by going to a longer word length or by
by making inclusive selections that allow somewhat higher lower harmonic values.

Note also that forcing magic sinewaves to be delta friendly dramatically increases
the harmonic amplitudes in the twenties and thirties. Any time that all ones are
restricted from giving their all to the fundamental, the harmonics have to increase.
