To find a magic sinewave:
Select the type of magic sinewave desired using the radio buttons.
Then click on the the Coarse Amp Adjust button.
Select the precision desired using the radio buttons.
Enter the desired amplitude (0.01 to 1.00) in the Target Amplitude box.
Or the desired power (0.0001 to 1.00) in the Target Power box.
If the present Fundamental is "far" from your Target Amplitude, OR
if you changed the type of magic sinewave selected, be sure to click the
the Coarse Amp Adjust button. Then click
the Fine Amp Adjust button
repeatedly until the accuracy stops improving.
If the present Fundamental is "near" to your Target Amplitude,
click the
Fine Amp Adjust button repeatedly until you get your desired accuracy.
The Delta Friendly 1377 option is well behaved and recommended.
The quantization buttons added to this version will show the distortion
attainable for different amplitude storage bit lengths. Use these buttons
only AFTER optimization and reoptimize after each use.
Note that certain small values may appear in scientific notation.
You can scroll right to view the actual exponent if needed.
To explore magic sinewave tolerances:
Make a desired change in one or more of the pulse position degree
values.
Press Recalculate to find the current
amplitude and distortion levels.
Press Find Nearest MS to find the closest
fitting magic sinewave.
To explore limiting data table amplitude accuracy:
Optimize the magic sinewave. Then click on ONE quantization button to view
the attainable distortion. Reoptimize before changing your quant selection.
